IC Applications Laboratory
The IC applications laboratory is designed to enable students to understand the functioning of Operational Amplifiers, some important ICs IC741, IC 555 etc. Circuits employing the op amps as the active element are constructed to perform as amplifiers, integrators, filters, relaxation and sinusoidal oscillators.
Microprocessors and Interfacing Laboratory
The microprocessor and Interfacing laboratory is equipped with sophisticated state-of-art tools for teaching and experimentation in the area of microprocessors. This laboratory will provide the students a perfect introduction to the world of Microprocessors and to provide hands-on experience essential to the real understanding of microprocessors architecture and it's interfacing to the peripheral devices. The experiments are designed to provide the students with the design principles of microprocessor systems and real time programming. Also students use the facilities in this laboratory for the realization of their mini projects and course project work. The course accomplishes this by using microprocessor kits, simulators and software development systems.
Digital Signal Processing Laboratory
This DSP laboratory is designed to supplement the lectures on the subject. The laboratory experiments are carried out on a computer. The programming language used is MATLAB, widely used for high performance numerical computation and visualization. There is also a provision for the student to perform real time implementation of DSP algorithms using Texas Instruments processors like TMS320C6713. This laboratory will also be useful to carry out projects related to DSP implementations.
Electrical Circuits Laboratory
This is a core laboratory for all the branches of engineering. This laboratory enables the students to understand the Fundamental Theorems and Laws useful to design electrical networks.
Control Systems Laboratory
This is one of the laboratories used by senior students of the program where the students work with open and closed loop control of electrical and mechanical systems. Process control, temperature control, programmable logic controllers and control of servomotors are some of the experiments conducted in this laboratory.
Power Electronics Laboratory
Majority of the power control devices use power electronic circuitry. This laboratory is useful in designing of various types of power converters and their characteristics and their real time application.
In this laboratory the students are trained to measure accurately the electrical parameters (R-L-C) using bridges. There are also experiments for the measurements of real and reactive power and energy.
Electrical Systems Simulation Laboratory
Electrical systems are generally very complex in nature and large in size and hence physical models are difficult to realize in laboratory. In the simulation laboratory dedicated computer software is used to analyze electrical systems. All the students use this laboratory in implementation of minor and manor projects of their curriculum.
